Hannah Ziskin is the pastry chef behind cottage bakery House of Gluten, and partner at soon-to-open Quarter Sheets Pizza in Echo Park. Her cakes feature seasonal produce, local grains, and embrace the mantra “not too sweet.”
Flavor: Roasted Carrot & Walnut - Fresh, salted, carrots oven-baked, and blended with Social Hummus base. Topped with baharat-spiced, honey, toasted walnuts & edible mini flowers.
Aliza J. Sokolow is coming out with her first book THIS IS WHAT I EAT with Random House Kids books in 2023. In pandemic, she started This is What I Baked, making beautiful challah, for charity. Prior, she worked as a food stylist and photographer for both digital and print, starting her career with Jamie Oliver.
Flavor: Ode to Mhzh - Pickled golden raisins with toasted pine nuts. A perfect sweet-savory combo. A nostalgic nod to the former Siverlake hotspot, Mhzh, which inspired this recipe!
