Chef Series: Rashida Holmes (Bridgetown Roti, LA)
Chef: The December, 2020 featured Chef is Rashida Holmes, of Bridgetown Roti. Having worked in LA hotspots, Botanica and the Freehand Hotel, she is known for her local-inspired cuisine. With her new venture, Chef Holmes taps into her family roots with eclectic and mouth-watering Caribbean flavors, that she describes as: "a love letter to West Indian street food". Yum.
Charity: Chosen by the chef, net proceeds from this month's sales will go to Jovenes - a Boyle Heights, LA-based organization. Giving opportunities to homeless youth, particularly within the LGBTQIA community, Jovenes helps to end their cycle of homelessness.
Hummus Flavor: Golden Curry Hummus - Notes of turmeric, ginger, & curry, with a habanero kick. Topped with lightly fried & salted pigeon peas. A Caribbean flare just in time for the holidays.
